" WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY PARTY READY?"

The season for parties is upon us. Holidays well I live for them. I enjoy getting together with family and friends and well partying. You know there will be a series of pre-holiday parties, holiday parties and if you are like me birthday parties galore.

My closet is going to be ransacked a few times over looking for the right outfit. The hardest thing is that I cant wear the same dress to two different parties because I know some of the same people will be going to the same party.. so no way will I think of wearing that dress/top/pant again.

So what I would do is take inventory. Treat your closet like a boutique and go through what you have. I know there are dresses and tops I haven't worn because I didn't have the right bra, the right accessories or the right shoes.

Sometimes I am an impulse shopper and buy something when I know it doesn't go with anything in my closet. That's OK but if its been months and I haven't worn it then I need to get the shoes or get rid of the dress. (I will never get rid of the dress!)

MAKE A LIST!!

This will help you see what you are missing from your closet so when you go shopping next you will know what to get. So next time you are invited to a party you wont have to go a little crazy with trying to get the right outfit put together.

What you should always have in your closet.

1.A black dress - Its a versatile piece and can work for many occasions.

2.Black or Nude Pumps - I don't know how many black patent pumps I have. I can wear them with everything so I consider it money well spent.

3.A wrap or coat that is all season and versatile.

4.A strapless bra that is comfortable - the worst thing you can be doing is tugging at your bra all night.

5.A piece of jewelry like a standout bracelet or to die for earrings. It needs to make a statement on its own if its the only jewelry you will be wearing.

6.A ring- my fingers feel completely naked without one. I talk with my hands so they should be a little dressed up to.

As for make -up: Red Lipstick and Mascara are a must have.


Holiday parties - I would start putting together outfits now. I like to have an idea of what I want to wear now so that when I go out I can keep an eye out for what could possibly work. I don't want to be out two weeks before looking for the right dress when its already been picked over.
