WE WALK (FASHION LABEL) ON THE EDGE

"NOBODY PUTS BABY IN A CORNER"

Thank you Patrick Swayze, but we don't need you to stick up for us anymore.

I've noticed that the damsel in distress has lost its cool. I know as a kid I used to dream of being rescued by Prince Charming, but now girls are learning that its not all about the boy. The saying goes - that you can tell a lot about a person by what they wear- and maybe this girl power has seeped into our everyday wear. The hottest clothing right now, does have a little of a tough side to it.

I know anything with studs, buckles and chains are being coveted, you only have to look at my blog to see that I am being swayed by this trend. That's why.. right now I am loving WE WALK.. I don't have Topshop down the block anymore, that was one of my many regrets when I chose to leave London, so that's my excuse for not knowing about this label.

"We walk is the latest fashion labels that has grown out of Top Shops, Oxford St. London independent labels department. With a fresh mix of casual/sexy garments set off by hand printed artwork.Originally created whilst living on the road between Australia, London, Paris and New York, it has taken inspiration from the experiences of life on the road. Each print comes from experiences along the way." - www.wewalk.com

I am in no way saying that skirts and tights imply a distressed damsel, I heart those too and my girl power is in check. I am just saying that labels such as We Walk are giving the girl who can take the world on...... her own little edge.

Wow I love those vest/tank tops, such a cool design. Thanks for the heads up on this brand, I hadn't heard of it before either!

Excellent post (very similar to one I have planned for tomorrow too!), both in concept and examples. I soooo dislike the damsel in distress scenario!
