SEATTLE'S GILDA CLUB CELEBRATE'S CANCER SURVIVORSHIP WITH A FASHION SHOW

Surviving With Style, is a wonderful event that focus's on celebrating cancer survivorship. I had the pleasure of going to Gilda's Club in Seattle to find out more about what this event aspires to do .

If you are unfamiliar with Gilda's club, its a place for people who are surviving cancer and people who have loved ones surviving cancer, can go to for FREE support. They have many events but this one stuck out to me because they tell personal stories in a fashionable way. The event consists of a fashion show with clothes that have been donated by boutiques and other retail stores. The inspiring aspect are the models, which consist of women, men and children, who are all cancer survivors.

I know sometimes that we may all think there's nothing we can really do to fight against this disease. If you are like me, you have a loved one that has been affected and you wish that you could do more than pray. This is what you can do. Gilda's club is a foundation that supports through free programs....not only that they do it with heart and compassion, two elements that are vital in such a situation. They have support groups, cooking classes, a room for children to play, books full of information and a great staff that will be there to help in anyway they can.

If you happen to be a boutique, an artist, a person surviving cancer and would like to model please contact Marlene. If you have books, movies or maybe art that you would like to donate, please contact Marlene... every little bit helps.

That's a great idea and hopefully one that will raise a lot of awareness and support. Almost everyone I know has lost someone to cancer (including myself). Thanks for posting. I'll be sure to pass this info around.
