Veteran's day is a day that we honor in our family. My father was drafted into theVietnam war, so my brother and I grew up with an understanding of how important it is not to forget to honor and thank the men and women of the military for their services.

When I was old enough to understand what exactly what war was and what it meant to be a veteran ,my father began to tell my brother and I stories. The one that stands out to me the most is how when he got back from his 2 year service that he did not want to wear his uniform. The war was such a controversial issue that the men who came back were treated like they had commited some kind of crime. That's why days like today are so important to not only the families that have lost a loved one, but to the men from our current war and past ones.

My father is thankful that the men and women from recent wars and of course our current one are treated respectfully and thankfully.

It's more apparent than ever that our view on war has evolved, especially since the uniform itself has become a fashion trend. In all aspects in fashion, from tops, sweaters, coats, pants, dresses, skirts, hats and shoes, it is celebrated.

This is definitely a topic that I could probably write an essay on, but am going to spend the day with my poppie (dad)! I hope you take the time to thank a veteran today.

I love those jackets!!!! Omg, all are so amazing.

I'm especially crazy in love with the one from the M.C. shoot (2nd down on the right). Do you happen to know who it's designed by?

I am simply loving this military fashion trend. I am of the opinion that a great complement to these designs would be a pair of reflective aviator sunglasses.
