CLOSET RESOLUTIONS: RISK IS NO LONGER A FOUR LETTER WORD!

I never keep a New Years Resolution, so this year I decided not to make one..kind of. I will try to be healthier, but my main resolution will be about the closet.

I find myself constantly admiring the confidence, the style risks that many people on the style street blogs take, but when I buy clothes or stand in front of the mirror something holds me back from taking a style leap. I know I have a style all my own, but this year I want to push it a little farther. Why not, right?

I know Seattle is not known for being fashion forward, but with Seattle street style blogs like 21 Arrondissement, its easy to see that Seattle is changing and moving forward.

So my resolution for this year is to take that little voice that holds me back or tells me that I've reached a new level of crazy to take a step back and let me have my fun. Don't worry am not going to go all Lady GaGa on you, one is enough.

I am going to start out small maybe instead of another black cardigan I will reach for that fluorescent pink one. Baby steps..baby steps... that I hope will lead me to a more fashion forward, not afraid to take a risk me.

I know I've written about my default outfit already and even though that speaks to me, I just feel like its time to shake it up and what a better way then with a start of a new year!

Will you be making a closet resolution?

Great post! Love the images! I say do it! Take the leap! I think I could do it more too! Somtimes, it is hard since I have to dress so professional at work! Take a chance and you will be suprised I bet! xoxo

I just posted about changes to the closet in my blog. And I wouldn't dare to make any promises, obligations get me nowhere, but I want colours!

Your yellow dress comes to mind, I want to be as daring as that, si. ;)

This is what i too started as of 2010. I know what you mean about our city not being risk takers in the fashion dept. I get comments all the time because i wear something others won't :)-
I want to see what you decide with your attire. What will be the biggest change?!!!

I love that closet resolution -- I think I'm going to make the same one (is that cheating?).

Agreed, even if I'm not taking death-defying fashion leaps this year, I think trying new looks and just a willingness to try diffrent things on in the store is a good way to being fashion-forward. These photos are so inspiring!
