Having a closet is a coveted thing and in most cases never enough room. So if you're like me shoes end up under the bed, hanging on the back of the door and sometimes lost forever. I am still looking for a pair of gladiator sandals. So it had me thinking my new apartment has about the same amount of room for my shoes as my last place, where are they to go? Instead of hiding your shoes or handbags in your closet display them.
One thing these images did for sure besides get me all excited to decorate my apartment..they made me want to go buy more shoes and handbags. Ok maybe I didn't really need a reason.

Yes! Love this idea, why hide shoes and purses when they're often the best collections us girls own? Must find a vintage wardrobe now ...

i could sure use some help as well..but somedays I find shoes or a shirt I hadn't seen in FOREVER and it feel like I just bought them all over again :)
It's a neat idea, but glass or clear doors on the shelving units are important. You don't want dust settling on your shoes and bags when you're not using them!

Lisa had a good point about dust, but I'd rather get my shoes dusty than my books.
Pretty displays! I need to take a cue from these- I keep mine in their shoe boxes so that they're covered (for cleaning sake), but this is way prettier! xo, mel

A Haute Mess
I have always wanted a rolling ladder. I don't care where it goes, or what it helps me access. I just want one! Sounds like a great space saving solution if I ever end up living in a 4 x 4 flat in NY.
i have saved these to my 'apartment inspiration' folder! moving into my own apartment soon, its small so need pics like these give me ideas!! Thanks for sharing!

Love this idea! My husband and I have been unsuccessfully "sharing" shoe space for a while now. The worst thing is: his big shoes have a distressing way of squishing my shoes if they get jostled around. :( Think I'll be moving my cute shoes out!
