Yes! I Have Eyelash Extensions & I Can't Wait To Try Out The Cat Eye Look.

If you would have told me that the simple act of elongating my eyelashes would change the whole look of my face, well.. I wouldn't have believed you. But it's true! I've had people ask me if I've gotten a haircut or gone tanning, simply because they just can't pin point what exactly has changed about me. The 2 hours and 150 dollars was/is totally worth it. After seeing all of the ladies at Swink Style Bar have long beautiful lashes, I decided to do it myself. Now I think I have a new addiction.

These are the after shots, I wish they were a little more clear. I decided to not go to dramatic with my lashes, but I am starting to think in my next fill session I might take the length a little longer.

The Process:

The first session is the longest you just lay on a table for almost 2 hours with your eyes closed. It's so easy that I fell asleep. Once the session is done, you can't get them wet for 48 hours, its a little bit of a struggle when you need to wash your face for bed, but totally worth it.

After that you can go swimming, wash your face, go tanning - really anything you do with normal lashes. Just try not to rub your eyes.

I went in 3 weeks later for a fill and this time the session was only an hour and 50 dollars. I think I might start to go in a little earlier, I haven't gotten my eye touching habit beat yet.

Now that I have these amazing lashes I want to learn how to work with my eye makeup. I want to make sure that I can make these lashes look their absolute best. First on my list is to learn how to do this with eye liner.

I am pretty sure I will need a steady hand to make this happen but I would love to be able to do this for a night out.

If you have any questions about eyelash extensions, leave them here and I will make sure to answer.

Wow! They're amazing! I've been playing with the idea of falsies/extensions for a while (I have blonde eyelashes!), but I've always been slightly afraid that I won't be able to do normal stuff. But, sounds easy enough. How long do they last? Do they glue individual lashes on? And do they caution against any side effects (irritation or anything)? So many questions!

They look great! I can't wait to see what looks you can do with them. I'm blessed with naturally long lashes (it's a family thing), but I never know what to do with them. They're too long for mascara. They touch my sunglasses!

Please post your make up ideas & tips!

I love eyelash extensions! I got them for my prom in 2007 and they were so great because I didn't have to worry about them falling off like falsies and for all the grad parties afterwards I hardly had to apply any makeup. I found it difficult to take off any of the eyeshadow or eyeliner I did put on though because you can't use oil based makeup remover while you have the eyelash extensions. I remember them being about $50 when I got them done though.. have they just gone up in price maybe? .. then again I live in Canada so maybe the pricing is different.
Ooh I so want to get them again!
Looking forward to you posting pictures of your makeup applications!

Gorgeous - and I have a couple friends that have them. But the internets say they ruin your real lashes (much like fake nails ruin your real nails). Can you address that concern?

They turned out great Alix! I have been contemplating getting some as well because they look so fabulous and I've always wanted longer lashes. Thank you for describing the process, it's always nice to get a heads up about a certain process/procedure! :)

These look great! The Cat Eye look is a fun way to glam up for sure. It does take a little practice to get that steady hand though. I recommend Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P245205&categoryId=B70 -- easy pen application & long lasting. :)

Oooh. I'm so jealous of your super sexy eyelashes. I love to wear falsies but can't commit to the full on extensions yet.
The cat eye look will look fabulous on you. Can I suggest the Smashbox liquid liner? I use it almost every day and it makes the cat eye look SO easy.
Can't wait to see more.
