Men In Style: Does This Look Only Work in Fashion Magazines?

Its funny how some of our favorite male celebrities can stand against a wall unbutton their shirt down to their pants and still look sexy. But when we actually see it in person we can't help but think - " Who does he think he is?" and "Is he for real?"

Is there a certain number of buttons that make it ok?

Hilarious. Photo #1 is definitely NOT ok. Photo #2 is still pushing it in my opinion, but the jacket sort of adds to the covered-up feeling I think, and also he's not sporting an 'i'm so sexy' pose with matching look on his face. I think that's why it doesn't seem like a deal breaker in that pic. But still - to the men out there - keep those shirts buttoned!

Excellent observation! Some things are best kept as fantasy.

haha if I saw a guy walking with his shirt unbuttoned all the way down I'd think he just had sex. It's definitely not appropriate outside a magazine because people are usually headed somewhere and that somewhere doesn't usually evolve unbuttoned clothes.

Since the chest area on males is what I like to call "man cleavage," I don't think it should go past two buttons. After two it they're crossing the line between sexy and "I just boned." ;)

OMG this is so true. unbuttoned shirts in real life make men look sleazy, but on the cover of GQ...it is a totally different story.
