2 Things They Should Tell You Before You Get Your Teeth Whitened.

I wholeheartedly believe in the saying above. That's why I was extremely excited to score a good deal on a teeth whitening treatment. The great price was a holiday treat from my dentist. What I knew going in to the treatment, that I would walk out with white teeth. What I didn't know? That my life would change for 48 hours after the treatment. If I would have known, I would do those 48 hours so different. That's why I am blowing my cover, I don't want you to go through what I did.

You may notice that all of the food in the photo above are white. Why? Because for 48 hours after you get your teeth whitened you are not allowed to eat any food that has color. It doesn't sound so hard, that is until you  try it. I made the mistake of ordering groceries the night before, so I had beautiful colored veggies staring at me in my fridge.
What did I eat:
Breakfast: Yogurt with Banana
Lunch: White Rice with Chicken
Dinner: Pasta with Alfredo Sauce

I have to admit I was a mess the first day. I am so used to picking up food on the go, but my usual food haunts (Starbucks, The Deli in my office Bldg) had absolutely nothing that was edible. There isn't a full grocery store close to me.
So my advice is to plan before hand so you won't be going from place to place looking for food when you're hungry.

Yes, the whole food challenge was hard, but this next "Must Not Do When You've Whitening You're Teeth"    challenge was the hardest for me. No LIPSTICK! In fact I was wearing red lipstick when I walked into the appointment and they quickly told me that was a no go for 48 hours. I wish I could show you my reaction, it gave the dental assistant a laugh. I really don't remember if I have ever gone without lipstick for that long. So the picture above is a rare one. What I realized, I'm lazy in the eye make-up department. I had become so dependent on my lipstick that I really hadn't played with my eye make-up as much as I should.
It took a little more time in the morning to get my eye make up just right.

It's funny how many people commented on the fact that I wasn't wearing my standard lipstick.

In the end it was all worth it. What's 48 hours when you get to enjoy brilliant white teeth at the end of it.
Also just to note: You may become obsessed with keeping your teeth white. I religiously use a straw when I drink anything!

Wow, I'd love to get my teeth whitened. I think it would be worth it, but yeah, all those requirement would be difficult to get through! You remind me so much of myself when it comes to the lipstick - I am SUCH a lipstick wearer; it is an essential for me whenever I leave the house ;)
