Resolution Challenge: Is It Really The Last Week? Really?



On January 4th I started out on the Resolution Challenge. I had some idea of what I was getting into because I worked with For the Glow to get me in shape for my trip to the Dominican Republic.  After my trip I fell a little back into my bad ways, Seattle does love their happy hours, and I needed to refocus. Thankfully, this has helped. I'm not going to lie, I did have some set backs and fries, but I feel healthier by leaps then I did on January 3rd.


Log off and Go Run
I spend most of my time behind the computer. It's just the way it is since I work full time and blog. Setting priorities was a huge learning experience. I have to work full time, so in order to make sure I was able to make my lunches, my dinner, my snacks and fit my workout in I sometimes didn't have time to blog. That made me try my best to make the most of my time.

Excuses
Oh, I have a lot of excuses. The only thing is, I may be able to swallow my own excuses, but I couldn't let my accountability partner down. Fresh Jess and I have been doing this challenge together and I know it has made all of the difference.

Setback and Comeback
It hasn't been easy. As a social city girl, I love to hang out with friends over drinks and food. But, just because I had a setback doesn't mean I fall off all together. When I went to NYC 2 weeks ago I struggled with sticking to healthy choices. When I came back home that struggle continued, my workout and my meal plans were not happening. I didn't let that throw me off the RC Bus all together. I'm back on it.

The Body Achieves What the Mind Believes
Just because the Resolution Challenge is ending, doesn't mean that I am done. I maybe back into my skinny jeans, in fact my skinny jeans are even a little too big, doesn't mean that I am where I want to be. I now believe I can get to where I want to be, achieve what I want to.. finally my mind has caught up with what I know my body can do.



Funny tidbits:

  • I am a biggest lose fan. I've been watching the seasons on Hulu while I am doing a workout or working in the kitchen. It motivates me. 
  • On harder days I wear my workout clothes to bed. It makes me get up for that morning workout. 
  • So, I didn't have time to make my lunch. Paying a few extra dollars for healthy meal at Evolution Fresh is worth it. 
  • I tried Zumba for the first time this past weekend. I loved it. 

So, the Resolution Challenge may be in its last week, but this its not the last week of healthy living for me.
