Style and Food. How Does A Train Fit Into This Mix?

Trains, Fashion and Food. This mix all came together in the perfect girls get away weekend. As you know I am currently working with Haagen Dazs in their Moment for Me campaign. April was all about Fresh Perspectives and boy, did I take that to heart.

One of my bests was celebrating her 30th birthday and instead of doing some of the usual birthday fanfare we decided to up our game.  This is where the train came in. There's a train that takes us straight from the heart of Seattle to the heart of Portland. We were total newbies, but we packed champagne and laughed the whole trip down.

We played it low key on the first night, if you call getting dressed up and heading to the Departure at the Nines low key. We really came out to play on Saturday.

Thank you Portland for letting us enjoy a beautiful spring day. We woke up bright and early on Saturday to head out to breakfast, the Portland Market, Nordstrom Rack and Happy hour before heading back to the hotel for a much needed nap before dinner.

The two fashionable ladies in this collage have been my friends for years. We've been shopping together on numerous occasions and it still surprises me how different our style is. We love this kind of weather and gravitate to brights, prints and dresses.. but we all have our own way of wearing it.

Also, if you must know my outfit was inspired by sherbet ice cream and definitely put me in the spring spirit.

Food. I'm pretty sure I gained 5 pounds from all of the food I ate. No regrets. Once again taking the #HDMoment Fresh Perspective to heart I decided to order food I rarely do. My tummy is still thanking me. I had Migas from Mothers Bistro, Sea Urchin and Prawns Spaghetti from Mucca, Biscuits and Chorizo Gravy from Paragon. I seriously wish I had more time in Portland, just to eat.

I want to thank the people who tweeted me with recommendations. This only confirmed that I need to get back to Portland more often.

I was super tired on Monday.
It was all worth it. I love birthdays, I love food, fashion and trains.. I'm so happy that we were able to take that combination and twist it into a weekend we will never forget.

I wonder how next month's Haagen Dazs theme will shake up my May.
