A weekend or two ago I was invited to take a tour of the new stores at University Village. I was super excited because I had heard that the Amsterdam based store "Scotch and Soda" would be one of the new shops. I have always been a little bit in love with the line, but only in the "I like what I see online" type of way. They play on the staples of dress with embellishment and unexpected twists - and thanks to this new location I was able to see it in person. I wasn't disappointed, in fact I might move in.
I have to admit that even the clothes in the mens section were awesome. It would be a great place to indulge in your tomboy style. It was fun to be able to see these online favorites in person. I really did feel like a kid in a candy store. Everything has a "treat yo self" element to them. I love finding items that I can build a look around, sometimes its hard to find those special pieces, but S&S have more than a few to choose from.
I tried on the leopard print 60's style throw jacket, oh you know I had too.. I mean its leopard print. The only reason it didn't come home with me well it was a little too big for me. Thanks goodness or I would be wearing it right now. They had items to let your fancy side indulge, but also just for your everyday. I need to go back there and play dress up.
If you have a chance to stop by the one in University Village - awesome! They're super friendly there, in fact I didn't have a chance to take a photo of the store before I left and Andrew was nice enough to email me a few. Thanks, Andrew.
If you're not in the Seattle area you can find one of their stores or the Scotch and Soda line at a store near you by going here.
