Out of my comfort zone is anything that does not involve Coca Cola. It's more than just about the taste, but it does go with everything, but breakfast food... unless you're having a double cheeseburger for breakfast.

Oh, college days when you didn't get up till 11am and you could eat anything you want. But those days are gone and my health has to come first. So, I spent 10 days doing the For the Glow detox - which meant no coffee and most devastatingly no Coca Cola.
The only reason I know I could do it was because I did it last year. What was amazing is that the withdrawal symptoms were practically non-existent. This just solidifies the fact that working with Jenn has helped me get to place where I never thought I would be.
Well, get back to the place, where I was last summer. Remember when I did the 30 day challenge and was featured in a few For the Glow videos? I was working it and feeling AMAZE.
Then it happened.
Life throws you curve balls. Or in my case I figured out CUTE running shoes weren't necessarily the best running shoes. I was working out during the week and running 10 miles on the weekends. Knees can't take that when you're wearing the wrong shoes. I couldn't run without hurting, I couldn't do lunges, I couldn't do jumping jacks and then one day it hurt to walk. That's when I knew I had to give it a rest. It turned into a tailspin. Once I couldn't work out like I was used to, I started cheating on my diet. Next thing I knew I was back to where I was before I started the detox. *facepalm*
So,when the Resolution Challenge came up again I jumped in head, feet, arms, legs, elbows first. What people forget about detoxes and evaluating your eating habits is that it's always about more than just food. It makes you take a look at other parts of your life. I go to bed too late, I wait too long to eat breakfast and those are things I was living with. This really helps to learn about yourself. The routines you thought you needed were just bad habits.
Always A Work In Progress
I'm not going to tell you that the Resolution Challenge is a quick fix. The detox was a starting point, the challenge is for life. I still go to sleep later than I like, I'm working on it. But I do workout 6 days a week. If I'm not at Jenn's studio I am at Yoga. I have my green smoothies and I eat my kale - Am I where I was before my knee injury? Nope, I am way past that. I feel stronger and even though I almost talk myself out of working out each day, I still get up and go. It's always worth it.
For the Glow
This is the best thing I've signed up for in the last two years. I really don't know where I would be if I hadn't had Jenn encouraging and pushing me to be my best. I'm not one of those people who could have done it on her own. I need a push and that's why I am proud to be a For the Glow lifer. When I start to shake, Jenn is there to give me that little push I need.
