I did some spring cleaning this past week, yes the week before summer officially rolls in. Ah, better late than ever. The point is.. I cleared out my closet and I noticed something - I have a lot of sweaters and black clothes. I know I shouldn't be surprised, I am from Seattle after all. I do have high hopes of wearing bright colors this summer, but I'm not going to get rid of my black pieces all together. So, here's a few ways I will be bringing black into summer.
The Accessories: Black heels, black purse, black hat and black coat, don't pack them away. They can still work with a bright dress. It may seem in your head that it won't work, but the Blonde Salad makes it look good, so you can too.
Faux leather pants. This is hands down one of my favorite items in my closet. I would not even think about packing them away for summer. They go great with linen tops.
The Black Maxi. This is the dress I would wear all fall/winter long just with a blazer or large coat thrown off of it. It's time to take your coat off and wear it out.
The Little Black Dress. You're probably used to pairing leggings, tights, knee high boots and a leather jacket with your lbd, but summer is here and its time to strip off all of the layers and let your lbd run free.
Head to Toe Black. Take off your jeans and just add shorts or a skirt and your favorite all black outfit is summerfied. That's a word, right?
Leather jacket. The cropped leather jacket adds a little edge to your feminine outfit. I love an outfit that contrasts and this is an easy way to do it. I know my little leather jacket will be getting a lot of play on summer nights.
The moral of this fashion story is that even your little black pieces want to have this summer.
