The saying "it happened in a flash" has never been so true. A little over a week ago, Stylish In Seattle a summit for Seattle's Top Fashion Bloggers, took place. To be honest, I couldn't sleep the night before, and I was up before my alarm. I was just too excited. Sydney and I had been talking about doing "something someday" for months and someday came on 3/19.

At heart, we wanted to put an event together that celebrated community. That meant answering questions that they were asking, and providing a place for bloggers to connect in person. Over the last few events we've heard bloggers ask how do they work with brands and how do they take it to the next level. These are two unknowns in our industry, but something all bloggers need to learn to navigate in order to take a big step into making their blog their business.

Bloggers shoe game on point!

These two things really helped us figured out what Stylish In Seattle needed to be. A summit in which bloggers would be able to connect and learn. We quickly came up with our two panels.

How to Work With Fashion Brands- This session focused on the art of blogger partnerships with insight from top fashion brands in the city. The discussion included tips on how to differentiate content, how to add value to creative collaborations and strategies for developing lasting relationships with brands.

Thank you to Jessica Branning from Neiman Marcus, Sabrina Fenster from The Shelf, Danielle Pepperl from Brooks Running and Samantha Scharg from Julep.

The Business of Fashion Blogging -I had the honor of working to find bloggers in the Seattle community that had successfully monetized their sites by adding a second concept. Panelists shared their stories; discussed lessons learned and offered valuable insight to style bloggers looking to leverage their blog to launch a business. I also moderated the panel which was my first time every moderating and is a completely different blog post.

Thank you to Cassandra LaValle from CoCo Kelley, Moorea Seal from Moorea Seal, Tiffany Ishiguro from T&J Designs, Cori Robinson from Dress CoriLynn and Taylor Horn from Thataylaa.

Style bloggers do a lot of hard work for barely any money, so the flame for doing what you love takes a lot to keep going. So that's why our keynote speaker was Amanda Zurita. The stylist, writer, and globe-trotter spoke about the power of harnessing creativity, taking risks, and doing what you love. It was the perfect way to close out a day of learning and inspiration.

I walked away with so much, new blogger friends, a lot of notes, inspiration, thankfulness for a great friend and co-producer in Sydney Mintle and some great women who made up our advisory board - Heather Fernandez, Joanna Lord, Brittany Streissguth of Pumps & Plaid, Megan Pribble of Diary of this Girl, Andrea Wingert of Skinny Purse and Jenn Haskins of Hello Rigby. The event would not have been what it was without a women tribe working to bring their ALL!

Special thanks to Su-zette from Coterie Worklounge for providing such a lovely space to host our summit and her help in making sure everything kicked off smoothly.

Bloggers listening to bloggers!

We will be taking a little break to enjoy the moment, but to be sure Sydney and I will be putting together another Stylish In Seattle event soon!

Some fun snaps from the event.
