You may remember that awhile back I went on a quick  little trip to Leavenworth's Sleeping Lady Resort (if you follow me on Instagram or snapchat.) It was a fun drive, a beautiful location and relaxing - all expected. But what I didn't expect was the little flame of "Why don't I do this more often?" it set in my brain. These little retreat escapes are treats. I can count on one hand how many times I've made little fun trips like this.

Yes, it was a little bit of a work trip, I was snapchatting, instastoring, and gramming most of the time. But I also had some opportunity to reflect, have deep, meaningful conversations with my PIC Andrew. We explored, laughed and relaxed. I even put my phone down, and since there was no television, we could avoid that distraction altogether. I do regret rushing it. There was so much to do at the Sleeping Lady - I did have a chance to do an excellent spa treatment, a tour of the organic farm, do a morning run and walk the grounds, but mostly I just wanted to be.

Sleeping Lady is the perfect place to lose, but not waste time. This little flame that the Sleeping Lady Resort set in me has gotten bigger and bigger in the last few weeks. Why don't we make escapes like this more often? It shouldn't be a treat it should be a routine, a scheduled deep breath.

So, even though my trip was quick and mixed with a little bit of work, it was just enough to give me a renewed sense of energy. If you're in the Washington area, I can't recommend Sleeping Lady enough, if you're not I totally recommend finding a place to treat yourself to; you won't regret it. And you deserve it.
