A Necklace Named After One Of My Favorite Movies: The Labryinth!

Thank you to Erica Weiner for creating such a lovely piece of jewelry that I am inclined to believe in love at first sight or at least MAGIC. These different sized eight rough quartz crystals are strung onto an 18" sterling and - you know - have a little magic. Also its named after one of my favorite movies, The Labyrinth it scared me as a child, but this necklace doesn't scare me at all - in fact it inspired me to watch the movie again.

How classic is this picture! Ha - I love it.

SHARE THE LOVE: EVERY LITTLE COUNTS & WILD FOX !

Ah Spring love.. I've been following Every Little Counts for a long time. Their clothes are so inviting, like you could wear them all day and still feel stylish. It's hard to find clothes that speak to you, but these ones tear at your heart strings. Their Spring 2010 collection is titled "A Girl In Love" - with names for their clothes such as Rescue Me, Faraway Places, Charming Girl and A literate Passion - you don't have to be in love to love these. To get a closer look at the different styles offered fall in love here. The faraway places tank has definitely made it on my wish list!

Love can be fun and a little wild..and even extend into the winter, imagine that! ;)

This is where Wild Fox Couture comes in, this brand has edge without losing style. They will be taking love into the cold months with their black/white collection. The "I'm In Love" shirt with its middle school homage doodle is my favorite.. but something about skull and bones with heart eyes is a little fun too. You can find Wild Fox here!

Moral to the story: Love - every little of it counts and its fun when its a little wild, you fox!

HAVE AN ISLAND LOVE AFFAIR WITH SUNO: COLOR & PRINTS - OH MY!

Aruba,Jamaica,Ooh I wanna take ya -! I don't know how many times a week I dream of island life. The hot sun, cool drinks, hammocks, the sound of waves and the slight breeze from the water - sounds wonderful doesn't it? Unfortunately I don't live on an island, but I can look like I do, thanks to the wonderful collection by Suno.

I am a big advocate of bright colors and the great thing about Suno is that they use every color imaginable - at the same time - and it works!

Afraid that these looks would only work for the pocket of sunshine you may encounter, well this past fashion season Suno beautifully presented a fall collection that stays true to their love affair with print.

How could you not be happy wearing these?
I wanna take ya to Bermuda, Bahama - come on pretty mama!

NYCFASHION WEEK ALEXANDER WANG: WANTS YOU TO WORK OUT & WATCH THE MATRIX

Isn't the winter for layers and covering up so that you can enjoy the holidays without having to worry about those inevitable few extra pounds? Well it looks like Alexander Wang didn't get the memo. His grown up business girl has time for the office and the gym.. and she's showing it off with crop tops.

I am all for shaking up the business suit, I think men look amazing in suits and certain elements can transfer beautifully onto a woman's form. Some of those crop jackets would look great over dresses, or tanks paired with trousers. But the cropped shirts .... well I just shake my head at that and say pass.

The look is not suitable for work and it can't even pass on casual Fridays, not that I've tried. The point is that I wouldn't even try. I've never been a fan, I wouldn't even do it if this was the spring summer collection.

There were some definite things that I liked, first the shout out to the Matrix.. awesome, its one of my favorite movies too. Ok so I don't know if he was actually referencing Matrix, but I would like to think he was.

Also, I can't find a picture... I loved the backpacks.. with as much stuff as I carry around am really starting lean that way.

What did you think of A.Wang's RTW collection?

COLLECTIONS BY KA/POW/WOW & LAS JEWELRY BRING A LITTLE ECO-GLAMOUR!

KA/POW/WOW and LAS Jewelry bring an elegance to recycled fashion. In the spirit of Eco Monday, today am highlighting two designers that work with items that 1) are left overs from designers table or 2) are made up from pieces of jewelry that have been sitting in your jewelry box. These collections will make you look at your cast-offs with new eyes!

Mia is the design brain behind KA/POW/WOW.. the inspired collection models itself after coral, fruit and structured Victorian ruffled collars. As a girl who loves necklaces, but gets a little claustrophobic with turtle necks, this is a fashionable medium. In most of these pictures the neck piece is paired with plain t-shirts and dresses. It makes a staple item become a "look at me" piece and as a plus it's also environmentally friendly.

How many jewelry pieces are just sitting in your jewelry box that you just don't wear anymore? I know I have more than I can count and I can't just make myself part with them. The husband and wife team, Lisa and Dan Soltis of LAS Jewelry understands this plight. They work with your neglected pieces and rebirths them in a beautiful way.

I personally love designers that can take scraps, cast offs or broken items that are usually left behind and make them into something beautiful in a style all their own.
These undoubtedly add a little Eco-Glamour!

KOI SUWANNAGATE S/S 2010:THE WRITINGS ON THE PANTS!

When I was in middle school I used to write on my shoes, my jean jackets and my pants.. even on the lunch table at school which got me my first and last detention. Honestly, it was just because the writer in me needed an outlet. That's why the Koi Suwannagate pants from her S/S 2010 collection speaks to me.

She states that her collections are done with the finest hand work and no two pieces are exactly the same. Her S/S collection for 2009 was honored by Women's Wear Daily as being one of the top ten of the season, check out her collection for 2010, will she make the list again this year?

Note: I love when such a beautiful and sophisticated collection can remind me of my 9 year old self.

LET THESE CLOTHES TAKE YOU TO TAHITI & FEEL LIKE A SPANISH ROYAL! THANKS TO THE NICOLL RESORT COLLECTION!

What do you get when a designer is inspired by the Spanish Royal Family and the Women of Tahiti? A mix of stripes, neutrals, over sized shirts and jumpsuits! Oh My!

Richard Nicoll's resort collection has a relaxed feel with just the right amount of regalness splashed in. I could see myself packing some of these pieces when going on vacation.
Not only that his color palette is perfectly on trend. The Golden Globes is a perfect example on how nude, dusty pink and shades of gray are ever so popular. The color lovers aren't forgotten with just a little color mixed into this collection, there's something for everyone.

Oh hello Orange! You might recognize these images from yesterday's trend color post!

The British born and Australian raised designer beautifully tailored his collection to fit the woman's body. I can literally see myself on a yacht wearing one of his dresses feeling incredibly comfortable and a little sexy.

I love when I can look at a collection and instantly be transported to a stylish setting, far from my Seattle living room!

ORANGE YOU GLAD: A COLOR THAT YOU CAN CLUTCH, WALK & ROCK!

Lately I have been seeing orange everywhere, ad campaigns, editorials, streetstyle pictures and in my favorite cup. I have been drinking orange juice every morning, this isn't normal for me, so of course I think it has to do with the attraction I have for the color.

I must confess that I don't use orange as often as I should. I have regretfully categorized it as Halloween appropriate only. I am not afraid to admit when am wrong and with the inspiring examples I have found and displayed in this post, its pretty obvious I am.

Orange is the swift kick my closet needs right now. It can be independent or a perfect partner in color, the orange/turquoise combination above is so unexpected, but works in the "why didn't I think of that?" kind of way. If wearing a full on dress or top is a little to much for you right now, work it in as a clutch or add to your outfit with a pair of killer orange heels.

I know Orange is not a color that one first thinks of or reaches for, but the next time you're looking for an outfit or a color to add a little pop into your look.... why don't you give orange a chance?
