OUTFIT POST: INSPIRED BY LEIGTON MEESTER & COOL SUNGLASSES THAT AM CRAVING!

Today's look was inspired by Leighton Meester. If you've been following my style blog you know that I adore her off screen style. When I was getting dressed this morning, I instantly thought of her long cardigan belted look. She's of course wearing an adorable dress, but since it's freezing in Seattle I rounded out the look with a white t-shirt (Forever 21) and skinny jeans (Forever 21).

It's my second day of animal print - I like leopard print, what can I say? My long cardigan is from Marshalls, I need to go back there asap!

My shoes are a different story! I used to work at Emma Hope Shoes in London and these shoes were my free pair.. but I worked for it, trust me. I really don't buy expensive shoes, so I never would have been able to afford these. So these are not only beautiful shoes, but knowing that my hard work earned me these, make them a little special too.

What am craving:
It's cold outside, but the sun is still shining. The question is, do I have any sunglasses? I seem to lose them on the daily. Here are some fun inspiring looks and sunglasses that I would love to have in my drawers!

How many pairs of sunglasses do you have?

THE JEAN BANDWAGON: WILL YOU BE LEAVING THE DARK SIDE?

Align CenterButton down shirts, blazers, jumpers, jackets and even dresses have all been jumping on the jean fashion bandwagon. I thought I was being a rebel when I posted about the relaxed easy fit of a jean shirt, but it just seems I was on the cusp of an explosion.

I have to admit that I'm always afraid that going all jean maybe tooooo western, I love boots and this combo will only add to the cowgirl label. I am only comfortable with that look at themed parties... but the appeal from these pictures has me expanding my jean narrow mind.

I can see myself being inspired to wear these pieces. It would be a perfect look for a spring afternoon, as I sip tea while walking through Sculpture Park . Could I really wear these during the week? Fortunately, I work in a casual setting, but the blazer, the jeans and the dress - separately would be the only things I would feel comfortable dressing up.

As for the dark side of jeans, I am a fan. I prefer the dark jean look, it slims and I usually feel a little taller. But am not ruling out the light side of it, it's definitely growing on me. The crisp fresh look just screams Summer!

Will you be hopping on the jean bandwagon and what color jean do you covet!?

IN STYLE: THE HEART GETS A MAKEOVER !

This is not a Valentine's post, so you are safe from any cheese or love quotes. The holiday may have passed, but hearts is a fashion trend that's here to stay. Now you may think.. hearts that's something my 12 year old self would only wear.. well this just in hearts have taken on a new look far from their nice girl image.. in fact its just a little naughty!

From Runway, to television and even on Alexa Chung hearts are making themselves known. Alice in Wonderland premieres this month and the Queen of Hearts may just steal the show. Her new look may have inspired other designers to play with the pigeon holed red heart. The new fashion trend for the once red and bright heart is to go black. It doesn't mean that the world has become jaded, it's just that even the heart needs a makeover.

Will you be wearing your heart on your sleeve this season?

SPRING HAIR TREND: THE PONYTAIL WITH A TWIST!

Do you wake up asking yourself, what should I do with my hair? I know I do!
Fortunately the winter months has gone by with just a simple style of straight and down. It added an extra little blanket of warmth against the cold wind. In the last few weeks the sun has been coming out and am starting to realize that straight and down is going to be nothing but a headache once spring and summer comes around. Every Spring I sport a ponytail, but instead of just an easy pull back style, I want something new and different. Here are some of my favorite images that are inspiring me to be a little more adventurous with my hair!

Spring Hair Styles for any situation!

The high ponytail, perfect for running errands and still looking good.

The side ponytail was popular when I was in grade school, but my hair never looked like this.
I think this would be fun for a night out! People may look at you funny, but inside they'll be jealous.

The perfect beach ponytail, messy and free!

Ponytail and the braid are two spring styles that I am loving and together its magic.

The ponytail is not just for the girl next door, it can also be edgy! You can rock it!

I bet you didn't know that a ponytail could be so versatile and chic? I didn't until I started doing some research. Now am excited for the sun to come out and the warmth to give me a reason to have fun with my hair.

INSPIRED TREND: FLOWER PRINTS GO WORLDWIDE - US, CHINA, RUSSIA & GERMANY!

I don't have a green thumb, every plant that has ever entered my house has met a disastrous fate. This isn't because I can't stand beautiful flowers around me, oh no... I love the colors and the softness they bring. So if you can't grow them.. wear them!

These are just some of my favorite images from Vogue Russia, China and Germany along with T Magazine and Elle US. They inspire me to remember that flower prints aren't just for little flower girls. They can also exude an sophistication appropriate enough for the office, a sultriness hot enough to wear on a date and a relaxed flirtatiousness for a perfect day in town.

What's absolutely wonderful about flower prints .. they never truly go out of style and they can pop up any season. Flower print, large and small, mix and matched are saturating January through March issues of our favorite magazines .. and I expect to see them more and more as spring turns into summer.

I will be buying flower print pieces from now on and give real flowers a break from my deadly hand!

TREND:POLKA DOTS FILL MY EYES- RED CARPET TO EVERYDAY WEAR!

And I know why.. from red carpet gowns to jeans skirts and a t-shirt this trend is fun and flirty.
I had a polka dot tank that I wore to death last summer, it went with shorts, cropped jeans for the day and at night I paired it with a tight skirt. I never felt under dressed because it exuded a relaxed flirtatiousness that's a must for summer. That's why am going to add more polka dots to my wardrobe this season. Here are some inspiring looks and must have pieces!

Do you wear polka dots?

NYCFASHION WEEK ALEXANDER WANG: WANTS YOU TO WORK OUT & WATCH THE MATRIX

Isn't the winter for layers and covering up so that you can enjoy the holidays without having to worry about those inevitable few extra pounds? Well it looks like Alexander Wang didn't get the memo. His grown up business girl has time for the office and the gym.. and she's showing it off with crop tops.

I am all for shaking up the business suit, I think men look amazing in suits and certain elements can transfer beautifully onto a woman's form. Some of those crop jackets would look great over dresses, or tanks paired with trousers. But the cropped shirts .... well I just shake my head at that and say pass.

The look is not suitable for work and it can't even pass on casual Fridays, not that I've tried. The point is that I wouldn't even try. I've never been a fan, I wouldn't even do it if this was the spring summer collection.

There were some definite things that I liked, first the shout out to the Matrix.. awesome, its one of my favorite movies too. Ok so I don't know if he was actually referencing Matrix, but I would like to think he was.

Also, I can't find a picture... I loved the backpacks.. with as much stuff as I carry around am really starting lean that way.

What did you think of A.Wang's RTW collection?
