Current Faves: Coats, Sneakers & a Steamer (Yes, Really)

It’s officially coat season here in the PNW, and as much as I love bundling up when the rain starts, I’m always on the hunt for pieces that feel fresh. For me, that means outerwear and layers that have a little plot twist—a bold pattern, a fun sleeve, or an unexpected cut. Because yes, we all reach for darker colors in the gray months, but why not add something that makes getting dressed in the drizzle a little more fun?

Here’s what I’ve been reaching for lately (and honestly, wearing on repeat):

Plaid Coat

This plaid jacket instantly perks up my jeans-and-a-tee uniform. The colors are bright enough to stand out but still feel cozy and classic. Perfect for when I want to look like I made an effort without actually trying too hard.

Denim Jacket with Contrast Sleeves

I love a denim-on-denim moment, but this jacket is next-level with the lighter cuff detail. It’s cropped just right, so it looks great with high-waisted pants. Basically: polished, but still laid-back enough for weekend coffee runs.

Handheld Steamer

I can’t believe I lived without this. I used to avoid wearing certain coats or jackets because they’d get that wrinkly, crumpled look after hanging in the closet. This steamer is a game-changer—it heats up fast, travels well, and keeps my “coat closet rotation” looking sharp.

Converse Platforms

I’m 4'11", so a little lift never hurts. These give me the height boost I want but still feel casual and cool. I love pairing them with wide-leg denim or even dresses—it makes everything a bit more playful.

Getting dressed in fall doesn’t have to feel like a chore. These little twists—whether it’s a pop of pattern, a cuff detail, or just shoes that make you feel like you—are what make style fun, even when the forecast says rain. 🌧️
